It may have adorned a net bag at one time? The septum is pierced with the remains of some attached bush string. In addition, the top knob-like finial and each side of the mask is pierced. Its loveliest feature is the relief-carved Crocodile on the forehead. The projecting chin has a carefully carved ancestor spirit face. Much of its red ochre pigment is still intact. A one-of-a-kind piece.
