ETHNIC PASIR FIGURE
ETHNIC PASIR FIGURE
Dimensions: Height 9", Width 2.75" Provenance: Ex-Private Collection Kalimantan
sku # B140

This figure carved from a tree root, has fantastic form. It's origins are from Grogot, East Kalimantan, The ethnic pasir's along with other ethnic dayak groups have distinguishing features to their carvings. I belief it is one of the most artistic and expressive figure forms available on the Island of Borneo. Due to it's rariety, little is seen and documented. This figure has been well handled, and has semi- glossy patina throught , apart form it's member, which has a very glossy end, this could suggest that it was a charm of some sort.
